At the dinner, the lawyer delegation members also engaged in profound discussions with Professor Gu Minkang, Dean of the Institute of Applied Technology and Future Education at the Education University of Hong Kong, Justice of the Peace, and former Associate Dean of the Law School at City University of Hong Kong, as well as with Lawyer Xue Qiang, Partner at Jones Day Law Firm (USA) and renowned competition law expert. From December 14 to 15, the delegation members participated in the "International Conference on Generative AI Regulation" at the University of Hong Kong. On the afternoon of December 14, the delegation visited Jones Day Law Firm (USA). On the afternoon of December 15, the delegation visited Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a renowned law firm in Silicon Valley specializing in venture capital, and Holman Fenwick Willan LLP (UK), a global law firm with a strong presence in Hong Kong focused on local business.
Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (USA) provided a detailed introduction to its projects in the Greater China region, showcasing its extensive experience in high-tech and venture capital, as well as in Hong Kong listings and financing. Both sides agreed that integrating international market demand with local services is a key direction and strategic choice for future business development, and engaged in in-depth discussions on this topic.
Holman Fenwick Willan LLP (UK) has a long-standing and friendly relationship with Guangyue Law Firm, and is home to five of the first lawyers to receive professional qualifications in the Greater Bay Area. Slaughter and May provided a high-standard, warm reception to the delegation, making the members feel at home.
