▌Biography
Kevin Gray is a transnational and constitutional law scholar with a background in philosophy who joined PKU STL in 2024. His research spans transnational law, litigation and legal theory, international arbitration, international criminal law, and the legal protection of indigenous rights. He is General Editor and Public International Law Area Editor for the Global Encyclopaedia of Territorial Rights (Springer, online 2021; print edition forthcoming 2025), a major reference work in the field.
Professor Gray's recent scholarship has addressed the (non-)protection of indigenous rights in investor-state dispute settlement, comity in extradition law, the standard of review at the International Criminal Court, and the justice cascade in international criminal law. He brings to WiseHub's work a distinctive focus on the intersection of formal legal doctrine, institutional design, and political theory — with particular attention to how international legal frameworks engage (or fail to engage) marginalized communities and non-state actors. His work has been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada.
